Who shot Nathan?

Dun-dun-dun…This is better then who shot J.R.! NBC has released the trailer for Heroes Volume 3 and in said trailer a guy who looks a whole lot like Peter is wearing a baseball cap and a black coat. Well, if you remember the guy who shot Nathan was also wearing a baseball cap and a black coat. And so the conspiracy begins. Did Peter shoot Nathan? Well actually it would be future Peter the one who shot Nathan seeing as present Peter was standing next to Nathan when he was shot. Wow, that was one confusing sentence. If it’s future Peter then why did he shoot Nathan? (He was one of my guesses but since I pretty much guessed every male character in the show that could have shot him it doesn’t count). Argh, this show is giving me headaches. The current theory is that if it was future Peter he shot Nathan to prevent him from exposing everybody. But why not just shoot him a little? Or go invisible for that matter? Oy, my poor brain. Here’s the trailer(look when there are 20 seconds left):
